THE TEXAN DIFFERENCE
If you truly care about the soccer development of your child and the environment in which they are challenged, then Texans Soccer Club is the place for your young player.
Consider these facts...
1. EXPERIENCE | The Texans have been around longer than any other club in Houston and are one of the pioneers of Youth Soccer in the United States.
2. CHAMPIONSHIPS | The Texans have won three USYS National Championships. No other club in Houston has won any. In 2011, the Texans had four Premier League teams win spots to the USYS Regional competition. No other USSF Academy Club in Houston had that kind of success with their non-Academy teams.
3. PROFESSIONALS | The Texans are on pace to have two former players starting for the United States National Team in the 2014 World Cup. Stuart Holden (Bolton Wanderers - EPL) and Brek Shea (FC Dallas - MLS). Even two of the 5 players who areĀ "Houston Dynamo Home Grown Players" played for the Texans.
4. COLLEGE | The Texans produce more college players than any other club in Houston.
5. STAFF | The Texans staff coaches are not brought in from overseas to coach for a few years, instead they are veterans of the Youth Soccer system in the United States, most of who have played for Universities in the United States. Our staff has more experience locally and more connections nationally than any other club in South Texas.
6. DEVELOPMENT | The Texans develop players and promote players from within the club for their USSF Academy teams. Of the 40 Full Time USSF Players, 12 of those players were promoted within the last year from other teams within the Texan Developmental program and only 5 were brought in from outside the club. The USSF teams are both presently in the top 5 in the Texas Division standings, which is a strong statement considering how the Texans rely less on recruiting players into their programs (unlike their two USSF Academy rivals in Houston) and more on player development.
7. FACILITIES | The Texans train at the top three soccer facilities in Houston and not small parks here and there that do not promote a total club environment. Meyer Park (sits between HWY 249 and I-45), Burroughs Park (5 minutes from The Woodlands), and Lindsay Lyons (near HWY 59 and Beltway 8) are the top soccer parks in Houston.
8. CURRICULUM | The Texans use a specific developmental curriculum in line with the best practices of US Soccer from age 4 to age 19.
