PREVENTION AND CARE

Sports injuries are the worst experiences an athlete can have. Rehabilitation of sports injuries aims to treat damages from sports participation so you, the athlete, can regain normal mobility.

Common injuries related to sports activities are strains and sprains. Muscle injury and tear can be associated with overstretching and overuse. Other conditions such as fractures, arthritis issues and joint replacements can be treated through a program on sport rehabilitation injury prevention and recovery.

Still prevention is way better than cure and that is true for sport rehabilitation injury prevention.

Avoid or reduce injury incidences by taking note of these tips:

Tip #1: Wear the right gear. Protective gear cushion impact and greatly helps in sport injury prevention.

Tip #2: Warm-up exercises strengthen the muscles used during play. In sport rehabilitation injury prevention, stretching also helps in assisting shortened muscles to get back to their normal length. It also increases flexibility of the body.

Also remember that it is important to apply first aid for the injured individual once an injury happens. Remember the R.I.C.E. of first aid. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. Rest the affected part. Avoid using it or bearing weight on it.

Cold contracts the blood vessels thus preventing internal hemorrhage of damaged capillaries and blood vessels. Wrap the injured part firmly using elasticized bandage or compression sleeves. Just don’t wrap too tightly because it can lead to more swelling. Prop the injured part above the level of your heart using pillows and soft objects. With this sport injury rehabilitation injury prevention first aid, there will be less pain and fast healing.

Do not push yourself too far if you are an athlete, may it be professional, amateur or casual. Competition is a good motivation but never put your body at risk.

Follow these easy sport rehabilitation injury prevention tips so that you do not have to deal with months of rehabilitation especially when you have serious conditions.
